EMPLOYMENT/ WORK VISA

1. Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa (186)

It is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers, the visa holder can work in Australia under one of three streams:

  • Temporary Residence Transition
  • Direct Entry stream
  • Labour Agreement stream

2. Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) Visa (187)

The visa holder can work in regional Australia as it is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers. The visa holder can work in Australia under one of two streams:

  • The Temporary Residence Transition; or
  • The Direct Entry stream

3. Temporary Skilled Shortage (TSS) Visa (482)

When Australian employers cannot source skilled Australian worker, they can bring genuine skilled workers by addressing temporary labour shortage. It enables them to use overseas skilled workers to address temporary skill shortages. TSS visa holders can work in Australia in their nominated occupation for their approved sponsor under one of three streams:

  • The Short-Term Stream
  • The Medium-Term Stream
  • The Labour Agreement Stream
  • Designated Area Migration Agreement or DAMA
Far North Queensland Designated Area Migration Agreement 
(FNQ DAMA)

Designated Area Migration Agreement is a binding agreement between government of Australia and the businesses located in the approved territory, region, or state administration. It offers means of approach to a greater extent to foreign workers in comparison to the conventional adept migration program.  Along with many other employers sponsored visas, our area of specialisation is Far North Queensland designated area migration agreement or FNQ DAMA. The FNQ DAMA is a specifically designed labour agreement in accordance with the requirements of the Far North Queensland domain, offering greater assurance and flexibility for employers and employees. DAMA allows employers of Far North Queensland to nominate and sponsor skilled and semi-skilled employees so that they can work and live in Australia on temporary or permanent basis. Moreover, this migration agreement has been designed by government to focus on prevailing worker shortages in the region of Far North Queensland.

  1. Temporary Work (Short Stay Activity) – Highly Specialised Work Stream (400)

The visa holder can stay up to 3 months (6 months in limited circumstances). Under following circumstances, the visa holder can travel to Australia:

  • Do short-term, highly specialized, non-ongoing work
    • In limited circumstances, participate in an activity or work relating to Australia’s interests.

FAMILY

 1. New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship visa (Subclass 461)

This visa is for a person who is not a New Zealand citizen but is a member of a family unit of a New Zealand citizen. Visa holder can live and work in Australia for five years.

  1. Partner Visa (Temporary) (820) and (801)

Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen can apply under partner visa (820 and 801) for their partners or spouses to live in Australia provided the perspective applicant is in Australia and have valid visa to apply for another subsequent visa.

  1. Partner visa (Provisional) (309), Partner Visa (Migrant) (100)

This visa allows the partner or spouse of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia. The visa holder is granted temporary partner (Provisional) (309) first and let the partner stays in Australia while the permanent Partner (Migrant) (100) is being processed.

  1. Child Visa (101)

The visa holder who is outside Australia can come to Australia to live with their parents permanently under this visa category.

  1. Parent Visa (103)

The parents of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen can live in Australia permanently. It has long waiting of up to 30 years.

  1. Contributory Parent Visa (Temporary) (173)

Temporarily, the parents of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible or eligible New Zealand citizen can live in Australia. For permanent residence in Australia, the visa holder can apply for a Contributory Parent Visa (143). Applying for temporary 173 visa first, helps the applicant to spread the costs of his/her migration over the years.

  1. Contributory Parent Visa (Permanent) (143)

The parents can live permanently in Australia if he/she is a parent of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible or eligible New Zealand citizen. To lessen the costs of migration, the visa holder can apply for the Contributory Parent (Temporary) visa (173) before this visa. The visa holder can also apply for a Parent Visa (103), it has less fee but there can be long waiting times.

  1. Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Temporary) (884)

The visa holder can live in Australia permanently if he/she is a parent of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. After grant of this visa and if the visa holder wants to stay in Australia permanently, you can proceed with Contributory Aged Parent visa (864) as it let the applicant to spread the costs of migration over the years.

  1. Contributory Aged Parent Visa (864) Permanent)

The visa holder is eligible to live permanently in Australia if he/she is a parent of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia permanently. Before applying for this visa, the applicant could apply for the Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) (884) and spread the costs of migration over several years.

  1. Carer Visa (836)

This visa has waiting of up to 5 years, the visa holder is granted visa under this category for someone in Australia under one of the following concerns:

  • Either to provide care to an Australian relative with a long-term or permanent medical condition, or
  • To provide an assistance to a member of an Australian relative with a long-term or permanent medical condition

SKILLED 

  1. Skilled Independent Visa (189) (Points- tested) stream

The visa holder can work and live as permanent resident in Australia. The visa holder is not sponsored by an employer/ family member/ nominated by a state or territory government.

  1. Skilled Independent Visa (189) (New Zealand Stream)

New Zealand Special Category (444) visa holders can apply for permanent residency. After 12 months of stay in Australia (in addition to holding a SCV for a period of five consecutive years), the visa holder is eligible to apply for Australian citizenship.

  1. Skilled Nominated Visa (190)

It is a permanent residence visa. The visa holder can work as a skilled worker, nominated by the Australian State or territory government live and work in Australia.

  1. Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa (491)

The visa holder can live and work for up to 5 years in regional areas of Australia. This visa allows multiple travels to and from Australia. Eligible visa applicants may apply for permanent residency after 3 years of stay in regional area.

  1. Temporary Graduate Visa (Graduate Work Stream) (485)

International students who recently completed approved studies from a registered Australian educational institution. Once granted, the visa holder can live, study and work fulltime in Australia. Applicants can apply for one of the following two streams

  • Graduate Work Stream
  • Post-Study Work Stream

STUDENT

  1. Student Visa (500)The visa holder must be above 6 years of age and can stay up to five years and can stay in Australia to study full-time in a recognised education institution and must have suitable health cover.
  2. Student Guardian Visa (590)

The visa holder can stay in Australia as the guardian of an international student under 18 years on a student visa. You must be either student’s parent or legal guardian or relative.

VISITOR

  1. Tourist Stream (600)

The visa holder can visit Australia temporarily as a tourist, to meet family, friends and not for the purpose that includes Business and medical treatments.

  1. Sponsored Family Stream

The visa holder is sponsored by a family member to visit the family members in Australia temporarily.

  1. Business Visitor Stream

The visa holder can visit Australia for business reasons under this category.

CITIZENSHIP

Australian citizenship can be granted in different ways. Specific criteria to be met before the application for citizenship. Citizenship by conferral and descent are the most common ways to apply.

OTHERS

  1. Bridging visa A- BVA (010)

The visa holder can stay in Australia until his application is being decided for a new substantive visa.

  1. Bridging visa B- BVB (020)

The visa holder can leave and return to Australia while your application is being processed for a new substantive visa.

  1. Bridging visa C- BVC (030)

The visa holder can stay in Australia while your application is being processed for a new substantive visa.

  1. Bridging visa D- BVD (040, 041)

The visa holder can stay in Australia for a short time the applicant is able to make a substantive visa application or granted a Bridging visa (BVE).

  1. Bridging visa E- BE- (050, 051)

The visa holder can stay in Australia lawfully while the applicant arranges to leave, finalise the immigration matter or is waiting for an immigration decision.
